  Here's what the Masons have to say about Jehovah

  my grandfather was a 32nd degree mason.. my parents ended up with one of his books called "morals and dogma" published by the masons.. i remember looking through it years ago and seeing multiple mentions of jehovah.. as it turns out, it's in the public domain on project gutenberg and is there fore searchable.. found this interesting in light of chuck russell's alleged mason connection.. it says about jehovah and the divine name.... whether the legend and history of this degree are historically true, or but an allegory, containing in itself a deeper truth and a profounder meaning, we shall not now debate.

  if it be but a legendary myth, you must find out for yourself what it means.

  I recall in older WT publications (post-CTR) references to Jehovah as the Great Architect.

  The Great Architect of the Universe (also Grand Architect of the Universe or Supreme Architect of the Universe) is a conception of God discussed by many Christian theologians and apologists. As a designation it is used within Freemasonry to represent deity neutrally (in whatever form, and by whatever name each member may individually believe in). It is also a Rosicrucian conception of God, as expressed by Max Heindel. The concept of the demiurge as a grand architect or a great architect also occurs in gnosticism and other religious and philosophical systems.

  Attending a same-sex wedding

  my cousin, whom is not jw, but we have grown up together our whole lives has just gotten engaged to her same sex partner, i am very conflicted on wether i can/should attend the wedding or not.

  i am very close with my cousin and her partner and they are very understanding to our beliefs and differences as she grew up with our whole family being jw.

  some family members have already said they will definitely be attending and some definitely not attending so i just want some extra advice and guidance!

  Welcome to the forum, and wishing you the best in a difficult circumstance.

  While not identical to what you describe, I feel what happened to me years ago bears mentioning. A dear friend was murdered and I attended her memorial, which was held in a public building. I spoke during open mic and performed some music. Somewhat after, I was questioned by several elders and privately reproved for "using bad judgment." My family had been interrogated beforehand by the same elders.

  I don't regret having been present and participating; my references to the Bible and God's remembering those who have died was well received. I absolutely could not say "no" to her family for what they asked of me. The only thing I would have done differently is not tell JWs my business.

  GREETINGS:

  I met up with many friends of 50-60 years over the last week. These were friends from the neighborhood, school, and KH. I renewed some really special attachments. Sigh . . .

  However, one of my garments tore along the seam and the hand-stitching skills I once had have gone out the window. Threading a needle is still doable, but I had the hardest time tying the knot at the thread's ends.

  Any tips on hand sewing when it all seams to be getting more and more cumbersome?

  "I was a really flaky guy, but my winning personality had a lot of people fooled, er, convinced I was a good guy. It's not I was a jerk. I pioneered, I answered at meetings, I scrubbed toilets. I was really humble. Marriage material? No, but marriage and grand kids (not immediately) were expected of a young servant-to-be.

  "My mate and I prayed and asked Jehovah's direction on all matters and many spiritually searching and confused young couples came to us for help and encouragement. It worked. We felt blessed.

  "Nonetheless, something went wrong in this theocratic household. I'm largely to blame because being strong spiritually -- whatever the heck that means -- was no cure for my emotional illness. My poor wife. She really did try.

  Nicolas King: JW celebrity and example of hypocrisy

  nicolas king frequently sings with the watchtower chorus and had a supporting role in the dvd released at the 2014 convention.

  (he's on the bottom row, second from the right.).

  but he also is a jazz singer, traveling constantly performing at concerts, casinos, charity events, even a brief appearance on the tonight show.

  I left the music conservatory and continued my career in music at Bethel. My first job was feeding the pink song book onto a hand stitcher.

  timing, proper interplay of dialogue, dramatic impact, etc.. as the one giving the part or as one drafted to do a demo, did your elders require rehearsals?.

  It wasn't enough we had all those meetings, field service, hall cleaning . . .

  After a while, my family stopped saying yes to Br. Never Prepared, who called 2 hours before meeting time and asked us to do a presentation or whatever.
